Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former President Donald Trump, suggested on Wednesday that he might consider a run for president in the future—marking a shift from his previous denials
about eyeing the White House.
Speaking at the Bloomberg Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, Trump Jr. was asked whether he would consider following in his father's political footsteps. He initially laughed, then responded, "It's an honor to be asked and an honor to see that some people are OK with it. You never know."
At 47, Trump Jr. serves as executive vice president of the Trump Organization, the family's luxury real estate empire. He's also a prominent figure in conservative politics and an outspoken supporter of his father's "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) agenda.
Back in March, the left-leaning outlet Mediaite reported that Trump Jr. was seriously contemplating a 2028 presidential bid—claims he denied at the time. But during Wednesday's forum, he appeared more open to the idea, saying, "I don't know, maybe one day — that calling is there."
He praised his father's influence on the Republican Party, stating, "I think my father has truly changed the Republican Party. I think it's the America First party now, the MAGA party, however you want to look at it."
"For the first time ever, the Republican Party actually has a bench of America First fighters," he added, as reported by Reuters.
